Our hair and beauty courses are ideal for people interested in the hair and beauty industry. Trainees can develop skills in the following areas: Skin, Hair, Make Up, Nails and Spray Tanning.

Qualifications & Learning

Students follow a work-based, hands-on learning route, tailored to individual needs and learning styles.  CWP offers the following Progress 8, Level 2 Qualification:

VTCT LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN
HAIR DRESSING AND BEAUTY THERAPY

The qualification is designed to prepare students for employment, to develop skills in personal and social development and to teach a range of techniques in hair and beauty.  At the end of this course students could progress onto further study or go into employment within the hair and beauty sector.

Beauty Works Preston

Beauty Works Preston is both a training department and salon open to the public. We offer a wide range of treatments to both internal and external clients. In-house, the salon is responsible for getting presenters and guests image ready for productions we stage.

Image Creation

Creating an image on a fun theme of choice such as Disney, Under the Sea, festivals, nature and seasons.

Make Up

Learn how to do professional make-up including the latest techniques and trends in eyebrows, contouring, eyelashes and much more.

Skin Care

Develop skills and techniques in skin cleansing, toning, exfoliation, massage and masks using Dermalogica skincare range in CWP working salon.

Face Painting

Design and create images such as spider man or a ladybird for parties and events with the intention of developing entrepreneurial and creative skills.

Nail Art

Learn how to apply gems, glitter, acrylic paints, bows and nail varnish progressing onto developing techniques in applying gel nails.

Manicures

Learn how to prepare and care for the nails. This is perfect for further treatments such as; nail art, gel and acrylics.

Pedicures

Develop skills to keep feet healthy and to relieve tired feet including soaking, exfoliation, foot massage, cuticle care, filing, polish and aftercare.

Learn how to use different massage techniques and practices to relax the muscles and relieve tension.
