CWP have been awarded a grant of £79,867 from Youth Music!

The project will expand access to exciting music making activities to young people, improving their skills and knowledge base and offering them the opportunity to progress musical skills through (a) the creation of a record label and (b) creation of an on line radio station to promote the records and (c) provide the opportunity to enrol onto substantial, level 2 and 3, recognised vocational qualification to accredit their learning.

Our project will offer access to learning in a non traditional way, providing participants with the opportunity for them to learn whilst being creative, expressional and experimenting with music and demonstrate clear progression routes to paid/earned employment. We will offer a flexible mix of taster session and ongoing activities that will include mater classes from external individuals and organisations.

The Activities

The activities will encompass song composition, song writing, music production skills, recording, brand development, marketing and promotional skills. From the catalogue of projected compositions we would publish and release digitally as singles and/or as a compilation album over a 2 year period.
